1969 Fender Mustang

The Joker is made from vintage Fender Mustang parts and wired up with a special pair of ’65 DeArmond pickups, and finished in freekin fuschia metallic. “Why so serious?”

This guitar started out as a thought I had — what would the old school silverfoil pickups sound like in a Mustang? I sourced a ’69 purpleburst neck along with the same vintage screws, knobs, switches, and tuners. I didn’t want to bastardize a vintage body, so I got a new one specced with routs for the silverfoils and room for toggle switch on the lower bout and a custom pickguard. The color is a fun hot rod job. It’s a super fun guitar to play, the silverfoils brings a nice defined sparkle to the table, and with the option to run the pickups in series, the sound chunks up like a twisted humbucker.

Specs: 1969 Fender Mustang. The color changes from dark fuschia to pink with metallic specks depending on the light. Pearloid pickguard and ’69 neck with purpleburst headstock. Pat. Pend. Mustang Vibrato. 1965 DeArmond silverfoil pickups with options for running both in series or parallel. Or a kill switch if you’re into that.
